GBTG Female Coach Support
We have always believed, since we started in 1999, that the gender gap in sports coaching has a strong link with the participation gap in sport (not just tennis). Therefore, we have always strived to support female coaches with funding and a support structure.
GBTG currently spend 75% of our funds per year on coach support for females. We want to encourage and support more women to transition into coaching, so we provide female players the support and mentoring to take their coaching qualifications. We also recognise that there are many good coaches and role models outside of tennis, so we actively look to attract female coaches who work in other sports to venture into tennis.
Additionally, we offer grants for internationally recognised fitness qualifications (REPS) which act as a perfect complementary certificate to any sports coach.
Our annual funds are limited and each grant scheme has different terms and conditions. Please note registering for the course grants below does not guarantee acceptance, and all tennis coaching grants require a commitment to run programs that cater for girls. Applicants will be contacted after registration. See below for grant streams that are currently available.

We would like to offer more opportunities around the country and as such would like to work in partnership with course leaders throughout the UK. This role would be ideal for somebody who has strong local contacts to arrange and fill courses in sports coaching and fitness. We can advise and support any leaders (who are not already tutors) about the tutoring pathway as not all courses require them to be LTA tutor qualified. If this is something you are interested in then get in touch and we can arrange a call to discuss.
